Milestones

Reflecting back on this week, I got to thinking that it's been a week of milestones for my family. On Wednesday my son, A.J., passed his test to get his driver's permit. I've seen him play Mario Cart, and other driver type video games for years...I'm thinking that the roads of Southern California may never be safe again. Buckle up for safety Boy!

Thursday was my Mom's 70th birthday. We told her we'd take her where ever she wanted to go. She wanted to go to a casino. Seriously. Cha-ching! Momma wanted to play the slots, baby! We went to a local Indian casino called Valley View. (Yes, surprisingly there actually IS a view of the valley from the casino.) After a delightful buffet of all you can eat goodies, which included Maine Lobster, and crab legs - more melted butter please! -we hit the nickle slots and had a blast. I bet you didn't know I was such a High Roller, eh? We all wound up coming out of the evening a little ahead of the games, that is all of us EXCEPT the birthday girl. She made a nice little "contribution" to the casino in the form of about $140 worth of nickels....oh well, we can't all be winners. Love ya Mom!

Today, my youngest, graduated from Middle School. That's it...I officially (for real this time) feel old. All those other times I said I felt old, I was just joshing....this time, I really, really do feel old. (That is, until something comes up that makes me feel even OLDER than I do today.) Anyway....my "baby" is officially a freshman. The hearts of the boys at her high school may never be safe again. That's my girl!
