(Nearly) Wordless Wednesday

My friend Heidi is visiting South Africa. This picture was taken as she was visiting the Abba House Orphanage. The little hand belongs to a 5 month old baby boy named "Blessing".

I think it is priceless.

Walk with Purpose

Our Golden Retriever Meetup group participates in quite a few of the dog-friendly community events here in the San Diego area. Last Sunday, we walked in the Escondido Humane Society's annual "Paws in the Park" event. We had a relatively small group walking this year, but still managed to donate a nice chunk of change. It was a fun, early morning walk, and the pups certainly enjoyed being out and about with all of their cousins!

Hubby was a great sport about getting up at the crack of dawn and getting the 4 pups ready to be at the event before 8am!
The boys were ready to walk!
And (finally) we were off and walking!
The sidewalk wasn't quite wide enough for all of those paws!
A tight-knit little family.
One, two, three, four,....five? Hey! That's one too many! Our buddy Deven wanted to be part of our pack.
These well behaved fellows walked themselves!

Mean, but funny

I know...this isn't very nice....but it is kind of funny...

A-Z Mondays - the Food Version! "J" is for....

Jack in the Box!

While I am no longer a huge fast food fan...when I do have the opportunity to eat some artery clogging crap, my first choice is usually "Jack in the Box." They have great "breakfast Jacks" "Sourdough Jacks," and best of all - tacos. Made of wonderfully greasy mystery meat, this delightful little duo of tacos can be yours for a mere 99 cents! What a bargain!

(Of course they never look this good....)

If you'd like to see what other bloggers are chatting about for A-Z Mondays, or even join in the fun yourself, be sure to stop by Jen's blog here!

Birch Aquarium

I visited the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla last Thursday with one of my photography meetup groups. I hadn't been there in a long time, and never with a decent camera. It was a great time, but I learned that taking pictures of fish and other sea life in aquariums isn't nearly as easy as it sounds! Out of the nearly 600 pictures I took, these are the best.

This is our "snappy-happy" group for the day.

On the Job

Kona and I have been busy, busy this week. We went on another 4 therapy visits, and I've been busy with Gold Party prep, my photography meetup group, and just the basics of running a household. I got a lot of stuff accomplished before our therapy visit earlier today, and I'm breathing a little sigh of relief. I had some things that were in desperate need of getting mailed out, and I got all of that done before noon. Whew!

The weekend doesn't show any sign of slowing down, but I'm hoping I will get the change to share a few of the pictures I took at the aquarium I visited yesterday morning, and get a chance to catch up on some of my favorite blogs. I've been slacking off unintentionally.
I hope you have a great weekend!

I've heard of "Keep your eye on the ball"...

...but I don't think I've ever heard of "keep your eye on the bone."
Leave it to Jack. He's making darn sure no one else gets it.

Sunday in the South Bay

Sunday afternoon we met up with some of our Golden friends at a dog park in Otay Ranch. It was a nice little park, well maintained, and fun. One of the coolest things about the park is that it is located adjacent to a very dog-friendly mall. The mall has a dog friendly food court, and most of the stores, including Macy's welcome well behaved dogs on leash. How cool is that!

Pickle and a friend's puppy. Too cute!
Blonds, blonds everywhere!

Yup...that'd be me...doing our little "round table" chit-chat to welcome new members, go over the agenda, etc.
A pretty decent sized group for a Sunday afternoon Meetup.
Someone needs a drink!
A typical Golden goof-ball.
I've included a few pictures of our friend Meeka, doing a little shopping. Her Dad took these and I "borrowed" them from Meeka's blog.

What a fun afternoon!
