Perfect Day for a Parade

Our Golden Group participated in the Oceanside Independence Day Parade today.  It was absolutely a perfect day to go out for a nice walk with a couple of our Golden friends!

The waiting around is always the hard part...the dogs are anxious to start walking. Sometimes you just have to find ways to pass the time...as AJ did here.
Once again, we had a very nice turnout. We all was said and done, and the last minute folks showed up, I figure we has about 40 members show up.
Finally, we were on the move.
Oceanside is a very patriotic town, and their parade it a BIG one!
Most of the dogs in the group were sporting red, white and blue of some sort.
The street was lined with several thousand viewers. It was fantastic! They waved and cheered as we walked by.
Who wouldn't love a big gaggle of Goldens strutting their stuff?
It's so fun to see the crowd light up when we come by.
And, of course one of the best things about walking in a parade is having very pooped pooches afterwards!

Practice Post

I'm trying to post using a new application from my iPad. I still haven't found anything that's as user friendly as I'd like... What a pain!

Well, so far, so good with this. Now to try to upload a picture. Sheesh, what a process! And to think I gave up a chance to hang out with "Magic Mike" for this? I should have known better!

CSULB- Here She Comes!

Yes, the winds of change are a blowin round here...

It seems like just yesterday when I was registering Pickle for kindergarten...and yet, there we were yesterday, registering her for her first semester of college. My oh my...I do feel old.
We got there VERY early in the morning...and while she spent the day touring the campus, I did a little shopping in the book store...
oh, choices, choices...
After the "official" stuff was done, we got to tour the dorms. First and example of what it "could" look like all made up, and then an empty room.
At the end of the day, she was tired, but very happy. Class schedule in hand and ready to head home and think about the next step - how in the world will she fit ALL of HER clothes into that tiny closet?? Ah, the stress of college!

Whew!

Almost 3 days and no update! What the heck is going on? Just the usual. Therapy visits, another graduation, and graduation party to attend, a visit to the cemetery, a Broadway show ("Wicked"-it was AWESOME!) a visit to the fair, dinner with Mom, a Halloween planning party (yes, already) another visit to the fair for ideas for the party, playing catch-up on tons of emails (I'm down to only 272 from 428 I started with this morning, whoo-hooo!) a movie with the kids and a couple of other things here and there. That just about sums up my last couple of days. Whew!

We got to see Pickle's bf Josh graduate. It was a wonderful day.
Hmmm, I bet you can tell what the theme to this year's Halloween party will be.
Yup, there were just a few other people at the fair. Yikes!

Wicked was just that - wicked indeed! Wicked fun that is!
 Not a bad movie...some good, no-brainer fun.
 My new boyfriend? Maybe...
Tomorrow I take Pickle to Long Beach for her college orientation.  How did that sneak up on us? We are heading out at the crack of dawn...no, even earlier than that! Good night, sleep tight my friends, 5:00am will come quickly!

Visits

It's been a busy week, full of therapy visits, among other things for Kona and I. Here are a couple of the pictures of where we've been this week.

We actually went on several others this week as well - several hospice visits...but where I couldn't take photos, for obvious reasons.  There were happy, and very sad moments.  It all comes with the territory of the kind of "work" we do.

It's tough sometimes, but it's worth it. It all helps to keep life in perspective.

Happy Be-lated!

It's been a busy couple of days around here, but then again, what's new!

Tuesday was Mom's birthday and we spent the day with most of the family at the Glen Ivy Spa. The only one who couldn't join us was Hubby, who was out of town on business. Mom had a great time, and thoroughly enjoyed the entire day, but most of all the facial we got for her. It was great to see her that relaxed and happy.

I'd love to tell you more about the week, but I'm on the run again! More soon, promise...

Suffice to say...these have been on my mind!

I'd need a 4 seater!

Check this out!
Thanks to my buddy Jack for sharing this with me. He says I need one for my dogs..."hey Jack, look who's talking! I think YOU need a dog with a pink leash!" I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin...(love ya Jack!)
