Quail Botanical Gardens revisited

I spent part of yesterday morning out with my photography group, and these are a few of my favorite shots. Not bad if I say so myself. Now, I just wish I had a clue what kinds of flowers some of these are...I know I've got a lotus in there, and a lot of lilies. Greg, any help?

Oh, Sue...no pressure, huh? To provide the answers, and to a moving slideshow at that...

Well, I see LOTS of different daylilies. The white daisy with the purple center is an African Daisy, aka, osteospermum. Alstromeria, cardinal flower (red) maybe some kind of allium, a lizard (a lizard?!), is that a pomegranate?!, don't know that pink daisy thing with the picotee edge, but me like, and oh, I'm blanking on the name of that white, trumpety vine flower...never grown it myself, but drooled over it in catalogs...starts with a D, I think, though...is it datura? I'm not sure to say for sure, but its okay to guess on "Jeopardy", so I'm hoping you'll give me a pass.

Of course, now its up to you to sort out which answers go with what slide for the win!

Looks like a beautiful day at the botanical garden!!

April, you are too kind. I wish my photography talents were half what your writing talents are!

Hi Sue,
thakns for your post on my blog. i've just had a quick look at yours and plan to return later today.
3 goldens???? I would LOVE LOVE LOVE that! My husband says one is enough as he knows he is second place behind a doggie ;)
I'm not sure how much of my blog you read but if you read to the one abuot Jess, you'll see she died about a month and a half ago. It was the saddest thing and my husband and I still can't believe it and still 'talk' to her daily. I think some of our friends think we belong in a mental hospital (!) but our friends with dogs of their own know exactly what we mean. We are due back in Australia in May and I have already placed an order for a goldy as life without one is just not a sweet life. take care
ps your dog Kona has the same face as our Jess. Have a look at her picture when you get a chance. Best humand dogs in the world.
