I'm sure my love of a good bratwurst comes from my Mom having been born and raised in Germany, and her knowing the difference between a good, authentic brat and something you find at a street fair. My Momma knows good brats, and makes them for us every Christmas Eve.
Oh, I do love that meal!

Mmmmm, that looks good. My mouth is watering. I like brats on the grill in the summer. Stick them on a roll with grilled onions, and you have a heavenly treat!

Good B word. Happy Monday!a
That sure looks very good!!!
A town an hour south of us (Bucyrus) has a bratwurst festival every summer. Lots of Germans down there! Good stuff!
Errrrr, what is a Brat? Is it the sausage? Or what?
Happy Monday Sue.
Yep this is a summer grill favorite at our house, but we usually get Johnsonville--that doesn't sound real German does it.
Hey Sue!
I've never eaten a bratwurst, but I grew up in Chicago, where Little Germany and Old Warsaw (ethnic neighborhoods) abound all over. I don't really eat pork since as a Muslim, we never had it. I'm curious though. Maybe one day I'll try one with you! They sure do look tasty in your pics. How adorable is your mom's tradition?
Hope all is well with both of them.
XOXO
Great B word! I'm really loving this food version of A to Z Mondays!
