Take a Hike!

Yup - that's exactly what we did Sunday afternoon when all the pups were bored poopless...we loaded up the gang and headed to some local hiking trails. It was a blast and we sufficiently wore everyone (including ourselves) out!

The first place we tried to hike (and I stress the word tried) was at the Black Mountain Glider Point. It was a little out of our league. Can you see my car wayyyy down there? This was the first couple of hundred yards...nearly straight up.
This was just about the point where we decided to turn around...there had to be an easier way!
The trail itself just seemed to trail off...um, no thanks...being as "directionally challenged" as I am, I know I would have gotten us lost, and we'd have to call for a helicopter to come and rescue us!
Pickle was very happy when we decided to turn around! Harley was just happy to be out and about!
We found an easier trail called "Miner's Loop" to try out. It looked nice and wide and easy at first...
It was a wee bit steeper than we thought it would be! Notice that bright pink face of mine? We weren't even half way up and I was huffing and puffing!
"How much further Momma?"
It was pretty narrow at points
and had a pretty good drop off...but we made it!
The girls were happy to share some water....and all in all it was a great time. I could have done without just one little thing....
...this little baby rattle snake. Thankfully we encountered it on a wide part of the trail and were able to get around it without any problem.
At least when we got home the pups were pooped and I didn't have any more complaints about them being bored!

Wow - gorgeous views! Love that hiking stuff, but can't believe those pesky little (and potentially furry dangerous) baby rattler was not hibernating! Guess we better watch out on the trails as well! Thanks for the bootiful post!
Hugs xo
