Day One, Leg Two

We arrived safely in Ft. Lauderdale and we are enjoying every minute of our vacation so far! Our flights were on time and other than a little boy who sat behind Hubby on the plane from Houston to Florida, and kicked most of the way, things were uneventful.

When we left Houston we flew over the Gulf of Mexico. Very cool. It was clear most of the way and I thoroughly enjoyed the view.

I was really astounded at all of the water surrounding the neighborhoods. I've never seen anything like this!

Thankfully our luggage arrived right on time, and we were off to our hotel in no time. We have a lovely room on the 10th floor of the Hilton that is very close to the marina where we will get on the cruise ship tomorrow.

It was dark when we got here, but the view was still incredible! I can't wait to see what it looks like in the morning.

We walked around a bit and enjoyed the evening sites. We ran into a group of folks that had stepped out from their dinner to have a smoke and a young man made a comment about Hubby's shirt (it's a Hawaiian shirt) - he said he liked it, and asked if we were on vacation. Hubby thanked him for the compliment, said yes indeed we are on vacation, and we went on our way. We made our way over to an awesome restaurant called the China Grill, waited just a few minutes, and got seated at a lovely table. We ordered a cocktail each, and were told that their was a young man at the bar that wanted to pickup our first round. It was the same guy from outside who had wished us a nice vacation. What a pleasant surprise!

To put it mildly, dinner was fantastic! We tried all of our waiter's recommendations, and just couldn't have been more pleased. I didn't get pictures of everything, but I did my best.

We are back in our room now, feet up, relaxing, and looking forward to tomorrow and the following days,

Wasn't that lovely of the young man?
I can see you are already thoroughly enjoying your vacation... OMG I would love to be there too!
I suppose seeing all that you do will have to suffice. *sniff*

Wow Sue, the food looked incredible! And, refering to the guy who picked up your first round of drinks, Karma really does come full circle! :) Looks like you two are getting off to a great start, can't wait to see pictures of the caribbean!
