UCSD De-Stress Day

Earlier this week Kona and I participated in a special event at the University of California San Diego campus. It was called a "De-Stress Day" for the students, staff and faculty. It's finals week there, and goodness knows there is a LOT of stress in the air. There were about 30 therapy teams that took part in this fluffy love fest, and we welcomed over 600 folks that needed a little de-stressing.

I'll have to admit, I was a little concerned with how Kona would handle so many strangers all coming at him at once. I should have known better and not worried.

He rocked it! What a little super star he is!

This is the library building at UCSD. It's one of the most unique and recognizable structures in San Diego. Originally called the "University Library Building" (catchy name, huh?) in 1995 was renamed "Geisel Library" in honor of Audrey and Theodor Geisel (aka Dr. Seuss) for the generous contributions they have made to the library and their devotion to improving literacy.
A bronze statue in front of the library honors Theodor Geisel and one of his most famous characters - The Cat in the Hat. The students flocked to Kona! And of course he soaked it up! He was quite the popular pup! The bald guy on the right was from the University news paper and took tons of pictures of my boy. The event was held in one of the ballrooms on campus (since when do collages have ballrooms?) and as you can see, there were a LOT of people de-stressing! Kona hammed it up for everyone! "Hello, how do you do?"
