Some lessons I've learned lately...

I've had a few things rolling around in my head lately, and I thought it might be a good idea to write them down, and stop thinking about them. Some of them will probably be pretty easy to relate to, and some not. Some might have you laughing, and others scratching your head. I suppose some of this is pretty personal, and might seem a bit odd coming from me if you know me personally...but I'm ok with that...here goes.

Really Random Stuff I've learned lately:
  1. People do not like cleaning up after themselves. This includes adults.
  2. People love free food. No matter what it is, if it's free, they'll eat it.
  3. There are a lot of rude people in the world. There are even more nice people in the world, but sometimes the rude people overshadow the nice ones. That sucks.
  4. I don't like rude people.
  5. Sometimes people may think I am rude, but I try my hardest to be nice to everyone. I can be quite shy at times, and I suppose that comes off as rude in some cases.
  6. I do not like speaking in front of crowds.
  7. I organize a large group where I very often have to speak in front of crowds.
  8. I look horrible in pictures, on TV and in videos, but I have to accept that that's me.
  9. When people say I do a good job organizing events, I very often think they are B.S.'ing me just to make me feel good.
  10. I love my family more than I ever thought was possible. That includes my dogs.
  11. Bored puppies find trouble.
  12. Bored puppies find things to chew on.
  13. Birth control pills, in small doses, let's say 5 or 6 pills, are not toxic to bored puppies.
  14. The ASPCA Animal Poison Hotline does not answer their phone in a timely manner.
  15. The Vet. technician's laugh when you ask about puppies eating birth control pills. Especially boy puppies.
  16. My mood and outlook on life can swing from one spectrum to the next with phone call.
  17. Today we got a really good phone call, and things are looking rosy again.
  18. My oldest daughter turned 22 yesterday and I can remember the day she was born like it was a split second ago. Now, if she would just keep her pills out of puppy's reach...
  19. My son will be 16 tomorrow. I am not ready for him to be that old.
  20. I am a very sensitive person.
  21. I let my feelings get hurt very easily.
  22. No matter how hard I try, I will never make everyone in my life happy.
  23. I have a problem with over commitment.
  24. I would rather do things to make other people happy and myself miserable, rather than the other way around.
  25. Sometimes I feel like I neglect my family.
  26. I love Renaissance Fairs.
  27. I love men in kilts.
  28. I would be happy to listen to opera music and celtic music every day, all day.
  29. No matter how much you try to make a person like you, if they don't like you, they just don't.
  30. Sometimes people see my warm and caring nature as a weakness, but I will continue to be warm and caring anyway.
  31. Sometimes, no matter how much you try to be someones friend, it won't work. If they won't welcome you into their life, consider it their loss. Walk away knowing you tried.
  32. Sometimes it's worth to try to keep a friendship alive, sometimes it's not. Try to know the difference.
  33. Sometimes the people we least think of as friends will emerge as our very dearest friends.
  34. You never know when you will find someone that touches your heart in a special way.
  35. Don't dwell on the past, it will make you crazy.
  36. You can't make someone want to spend time with you. Either they do, or they don't.
  37. You can't worry about why someone doesn't like you as much as you like them. People have their reasons, even if we don't understand or agree with them.
  38. Sometimes high school friendships are better left in high school than dragged into our adult lives.
  39. Sometimes high school friendships are worth every ounce of effort they require. (You know who you are.)
  40. Sometimes I still feel like I am in high school.
  41. I do not like politics.
  42. I do not like politicians.
  43. I keep my political views to myself, 99% of the time.
  44. I very rarely discuss politics or religion with anyone.
  45. No matter how well you think you know someone, I don't think you ever really know them, with a few, very rare exceptions.
  46. I think I can probably count on one hand how many people really, truly know me. I think a lot of people think they know me, but that's because I only show them what I want them to see. (Yeah, that sounds a little creepy, doesn't it?)
  47. I'm OK with people not knowing the "real" me.
  48. I hate to disappoint people or let them down.
  49. Feeling like you've let your kids down is one of the worst feelings in the world.
  50. Sometimes just writing stuff down makes you feel better. Sometimes not...

OK, enough of the randomness. That's it. That's all you're getting of me for now. I guess I needed to get that out. Like a little therapy I suppose. I have a feeling that's not the end of it though...consider yourself warned...

And a great big HAZZAH! to numbers 26 and 27!! And I once gave my ex my birth control pill on accident instead of his allergy pill. Really, it was an accident. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Don't think it hurt him any. But then again with him, it was hard to tell.
