Too close to home

Just a short while ago we heard sirens in the neighborhood. That's not a sound we like to hear, especially with living relatively close to a canyon, and with this being fire season. It's been very dry and windy lately, as a result of the "Santa Ana" winds-which are winds that blow in east from the desert. October is notoriously a rough month for San Diego and wild fires, but thankfully (I suppose) this was a house fire that the fire engines were rushing to. It was just two blocks from our house. That's way too close for comfort. Thankfully, the brave men and women of the SDFD took care of the fire pronto. My hat is off to them!

By the way, we did find out that no one was in the house at the time of the fire, thank goodness!
