Gentle Giant

We do therapy visits with Tom and Wilson every Friday, and every other Wednesday....

Poor Tom, he gets the same questions over and over again.

How much does he weigh? (212 lb, thank you very much...)

How much does he eat? (only 4 lb of raw food a day)

What kind of a dog is THAT? (He's half Great Dane, and half English Mastiff)

Where's his saddle? (At home, and yes, he has one - from when they dressed him up as Clyde's dale for Halloween one year...)

You'd think Wilson was some sort of unusual dog or something.

Here's a little perspective for you. Wilson standing next to Happy. Happy is a normal sized adult Golden Retriever.

He is a big, beautiful dog indeed! some clients of mine had a golden mix, looked exactly like a golden but was HUGE! not as heavy as this guy but as big! they always got a barrage of questions too! the only bummer about giant breeds is they don't live very long...

He is a good looking big boy! My Fred is about 110pds and he is currently going through the testing for pet therapy, its so nice to see other big guys doing that work.

My question would be this: why is Wilson wearing shoes? Amazing dog, making a Golden appear so small.

Wilson wears shoes because his paws are sensitive to harsh chemicals they use to clean the hospital floors.
