Pooches at the Padres!

Not long ago the S.D. Padres held their annual "Bark at the Park" event, where 500 lucky dogs and their caretakers are allowed to attend a major league baseball game together. I set the event up as a Meetup for my Golden Group, and I'm happy to say that we had over 50 members and their pooches attend!

It was, as always, a very fun night for all of the fans, both 4 legged and 2 legged! (Even though the Padres couldn't eek out a win...)

It was pretty cool to be on a major league ball field... ...especially with so many of our friends. Pickle took the picture, and the young man on the right is our friend Zach. Hey Jill, the ballgame is behind you! She was more interested in the photo-op than the game...I guess she's not a baseball fan.

Doesn't Hubby look thrilled? Ha! I cracked up when I saw this one. At least me and Harley look happy!

**And - by the way....the answer to the "Travel Fund Turtle" question was $880! But tonight I put another $20 - so as of right now I'm sitting on a nice, fat $900. Anyone have any suggestions of where to shop in St. Thomas? I heard they've got some great little shops....

A-Z Mondays - "T" is for Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

Last week we had the unique opportunity to take the pups to a Padre game. Once a year the Padres organization allows dogs at the baseball game, and this is the third year in a row we've gone, along with others from the Golden group I organize. There were about 45 of us from the Golden group in attendance, along with about 150 other dogs and their families. One of the funnest parts of the evening is when they allow us to parade around the entire field showing off the pooches to the throngs of adoring fans.

Let's Go Padres, Let's Go!

It was a great evening in San Diego tonight, in spite of the drizzle and chill in the air. We got a call this afternoon from some great friends with 3 extra tickets for the Padre game. These just weren't regular ol tickets either, they were for the Western Metal Suite seats, box seats that is, that came with a $150 per ticket price tag, and all of the food and drink you can handle. Complimentary tickets.

I love FREE!

Hubby, AJ, and I grabbed our jackets, and hit the road to meet up with our friends. The evening WAS AWESOME! On top of the fact that there was everything to eat from nachos, chicken strips, pasta salad, hot dogs with all the fixens', cookies, brownies, ice cream, peanuts and cracker jack, and unlimited beer, soda, and bottled water to drink....and I didn't have to make dinner, which all made for a perfect evening...the Padres actually WON the game against the dreaded Dodgers. 4 to 2 baby! Sweet! The second game of the season, and the Pads are playing 50/50 ball. We can't knock that!

If only I'd have had a pair of scissors handy...I would have loved to offer Manny Ramirez a free hair cut...dude needs a hair cut. BAD. Call me old fashioned, but the long locks on ball players need to go. In my humble opinion that is...

Padres

I'm thinking of Bogart this morning (a real Padre fan) as I post a couple of these pictures from a recent Padre game. Our friends, K & S from Dugan's Barkery, gave Hubby some awesome tickets to a game for his birthday not long ago, and I don't think we've ever had better seats while in Petco Park. It was a blast! The game could have been better (what's new?...it is the Padres, after all) but, hey, there is always next year!

Dogs Days of Summer with the Padres

Last night we attended the annual "Dog Days of Summer with the Padres" game in our beautiful Petco Park. We went with members of our Golden Retriever Meetup Group, and it was a real blast. There were lots of dogs of every size and shape, but of course the Goldens were the stars of the evening! Petco stores sponsored the evening and it was very nicely done. There were photographers taking pictures in a number of settings, lots of free goodies, and the opportunity for dogs and their families to walk around the warning track on the field in a sort of "Pup Parade!" It really was a fantastic evening, at to top it all off, the Padres actually WON the game against the Diamond Backs, 9 to 2.
