One Month

Yesterday was one month since my Dad has been gone.
.
One month.
.
One of my friends wrote to me and mentioned out strange that it can be that time feels like it can be on two different plains at the same time....for instance, I can't believe that a month has already passed since I was sitting in that room holding my Dad's hand...and yet is seems like so long ago.
.
How can that be?
.
We went out to the cemetery. They are still working on Dad's section of the cemetery, straightening the surrounding headstones, so there still isn't grass. I hope they get that finished soon. Dad's headstone isn't up yet, so we still have the temporary.
This is what it will look like when it is completed.
It was a spectacularly beautiful day. The kind of day that Dad loved. He would take a good book outside and read on the patio, soaking up the sun. This is a view from a different area of the cemetery. It is so beautiful there.

I'm sorry. It will get easier, but sometimes it will hit you like a truck that he is gone. My dad has been gone since 2003, and there are days I feel like I had just talked to him and wish I could again.

Sue, I've been gone for some time and had no idea that you lost your father during that period. My sincerest condolences.
