Yes, I'm watching.
Yes, I'm addicted.
Yes, I loved this guy.
Jeffery Adam Gutt. Remember that name. I think we'll hear more from him, at least I hope so.
One of my favorite songs, and certainly one of my favorite renditions.

My National TV Debut
First off, let me tell you that we had a blast!
It was a long drive into Studio City. We left our house at 5:45am, before the sun came up.
We finally arrived at the CBS studios around 9:30am. We weren't supposed to have cameras with us, so I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked...
We joined the other 120 or so people with tickets to see the show, had our IDs checked, etc., and before we knew it, it was time for taping. We'd never been to a live show taping before, and it was a lot of fun, a lot of clapping, and an all around interesting experience.
Pretty exciting stuff, huh? I haven't had anyone stop and ask me for my autograph yet, but I'm waiting...

We headed to my friend Lisa's house. She'd gotten the tickets and invited Bear and I to join her.
We cruised through Smell A L.A. and enjoyed the change of scenery.

Well, don't blink or you'll miss it. (Remember to look for my light blue-ish, turquoise colored sweater.)

Not What You'd Expect
Just a fun video that was sent to me...I saw it a while ago and thought it was pretty good. I am a big Simon fan, and loved his reaction at seeing this guy.
I hope you are having a great weekend so far!

Crush of the Week - Captain Phil Harris
I've been busy lately...too busy to do fun stuff like blog, or comment on other's blogs. It's not just an excuse...I've really been swamped....I meant to get my crush of the week post up yesterday, but the time slipped by, and by early evening I was pooped, and just wanted to sit on the couch with Hubby, watch American Idol (what can I say, I still love that show) and Lost.
I've got a long list of future crushes of the week to blog about, but no one stuck out in my mind yesterday. Then I woke up this morning and saw that one of my crushes, Captain Phil Harris of the Cornelia Marie, from the Discovery Channel's "The Deadliest Catch" had passed away.

I knew he'd suffered a stroke on Jan. 29th, but had heard that he was doing well and continuing to improve daily. Apparently he took a turn for the worse yesterday, and died last night. He was only 53 years old. Of course I didn't know him personally, but his death brought me to tears. He was one of those characters that you just know you would hit if off with if you met him in a bar somewhere....he had two sons that were on the show with him, and although there was always a lot of yelling between the three of the, you could tell that he was a teddy bear at heart, and loved those boys with every ounce of his being.
Captain Phil was a hell of a guy...a hell of a good guy. I, along with millions of others, will miss him terribly. I guess there will be no more ads like this one from last Mother's Day that made me laugh out loud...rest in peace Phil.

On a Lighter Note
Now, you all know how I LOVE a good "flash mob", right?
Well, here is one of the best I've seen. 20,000 people! Leave it to the Oprah show to have to out do everyone!

I love this stuff...
You all know I'm a big reality TV show fan, right? Well, every once in a while I come across something that I just have to share. I LOVE it when the underdog comes out on top.
Check this out...it is Susan Boyle, and she was auditioning for a U.K. show called Britain's Got Talent. This is the same show where Paul Potts (my current favorite opera singer) was discovered...needless to say, I think the judges were pleasantly surprised.

My Boyfriends are Back!
I can't tell you how excited I am that the boys from the Deadliest Catch are coming back on tomorrow night! It's been a long couple of months without them, and I've been going through withdrawals. Thank goodness the Discovery Channel has been playing reruns from seasons past. I love pretty much everything about this show, from the opening song - Bon Jovi's "Dead or Alive" to the narrator (one of my very favorite celebrity boyfriends - Mike Rowe) to all of the boys on the boats. Of course I use the term "boys" very loosely here....these men are AWESOME! Each and every one of them is an extremely hard worker and busts his @ss every day on the job, working incredibly long hours, in some of the most hellacious weather conditions ever! Out in the middle of the Bering Sea, fighting rain, sleet, snow, crushing waves- you name it, these guys work through it! And all in the name of crab fishing. I know it may sound strange to be completely enthralled with a show about crab fisherman, and how many pounds of crab they pull up in each pot, but this show is much more than that. It's about real people, doing a really tough job, facing life and death situations on nearly every episode, and how all of these individuals come together to form the crews of these boats. It's fascinating I tell ya! I LOVE it!
Welcome back Sig, Phil, John, Andy, Edgar, Matt, Jake, Greg, Keith, Josh and all the rest of the crews from the Northwestern, Wizard, Cornelia Marie, Time Bandit, Maverick, Farwest Leader and Early Dawn...to name a few. I've missed you!
