Pat on the Back

It's not often, as adults, that we have someone (other than our loved ones) give us a pat on the back. When it happens, it sure feels great.

I had the pleasure of such an experience this passed weekend. My boss and his lovely wife had a dinner/informal meeting at their home with all of the reps that are working for them. We enjoyed some excellent pizza, and cool, refreshing adult beverages. We swapped ideas, strategies, and stories. It was fun and informative and it's been a long time since I been in that type of environment.

Towards the end of the gathering, my boss's wife presented me with a personalized poem, some sweet and spicy pepper jelly and a bottle of my favorite adult beverage with a "You're a Star" note on it.
It caught me totally off guard, and it was so nice! I felt like I was back in school and had won "the citizen of the month" award, without even knowing I'd been nominated.

It was an extremely kind gesture, and such a pleasant surprise! That pat on the back really made my weekend!

Thank you Ron and Carol, you're the best!

A-Z Mondays - the food version, "I" is for "Iced Tea"

Ok, while it's technically not "food" - I consume it, so it counts, right?

And I do love it! This is my current favorite...

Yum!

If you want to see what other bloggers are doing for A-Z Mondays, and maybe even join in the fun, be sure to stop by Jen's blog here.

Never Wash Your Hands?

I received the following in an email and thought it was just too cool not to share. I'm not sure who the artist is, but whoever he is, he has a very unique talent!

It'll take him four hours to do one hand. He then photographs it for posterity. I cannot imagine how he does it, the eyes are so remarkably lifelike. It took him 10 hours to do the two-handed Eagle picture.

In his element

Kona was, once again, in his element as we visited a senior citizen's home in Poway. He really loves these visits and all of the TLC he gets. Heck, who wouldn't love going to work at a place where you are loved on, massaged, and showered with affection.

Is it time Momma? Can I get out of the car?

I like sitting pretty.....

And holding hands....

A scratch behind my ears always feels great!

The gentle touch of a hand is so nice.

We are making each other happy!

Smiles all around.

This is one of my favorite buddies here....He always has a minute to give me some love.

Sometimes its just nice to sit quietly and hold hands.

I have lots of special friends here.

We hope your day is going as good as ours is!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Another whirlwind of a busy day today - I wanted to wish everyone a Happy (if not late) St. Patty's Day.

I hope you are all enjoying your very green day! I didn't have the chance to do much of anything with the pups today, so as dressed up as anyone got around here today was Kona wearing his shamrock scarf....
I hope you had a good one!

Worst Birthday Card Ever!

When I was recently looking for a birthday card for a friend, I stumbled upon this little diddy....
Can you imagine opening this on your birthday, when you are expecting a nice little sentiment from a friend? Wow...no thanks. Needless to say I did not buy this card!
