Random Fun Videos

I just wanted to share these two fun videos I ran across today. I thoroughly enjoyed them both and certainly can appreciate all of work that went in each one. I hope you enjoy them too.

Pickle's Big Day!

Pickle had a birthday on Thursday, and I've been too busy to post about it. I am not a bad Mom...just a very, very busy one.

Other than having to go to school...I think she had a pretty fun day. She got to bring a couple of her girl friends along for a very fun dinner to her favorite place downtown, "Dick's Last Resort."

Now "Dick's" is not the kind of place everyone enjoys. The servers are rude, they throw menus at you, yell at you if you take too long to order, make you wear silly hats, do mean things to the customers (one boy, about 10 years old was also celebrating his birthday, and our server brought him what looked like a small birthday treat covered in whipped cream, complete with a lit candle, etc. He blew out the candle, took a bite and realized that the whip cream had been sprayed not on cake or ice cream, but on cole slaw, YUCK!) Patrons throw paper balls at each other, and have been known to start wars by walking by other tables and "bombing" them with literally hundreds of paper towel balls. Yep, not for everyone....BUT if you are turning 17, you LOVE this kind of stuff.

And Pickle and her friends did!

After a very fun, and silly dinner, we came home to open presents and enjoy a little cake.

Happy (belated) birthday Pickle! We love you!

Ebony and Ivory

Kona and Brutus
Two of the sweetest dogs ever. They look and act like brothers from a different mother. They are both gorgeous, silky soft, well behaved, and have faces of angels.
They bring joy and love to everyone they visit! I am very thankful to have met Brutus and his Mom, and have them as members in our Love on a Leash chapter!

Mission Accomplished!

I
HAD
A
BLAST!

We got to the area early and stopped at a little tourist place called "Tom's Farm" to take a couple of pictures.
This old guy had a fist full of gold...my kinda guy!
Waiting to see if Santa would show up.
Flirts!

Ah, at the spa at last!
The grounds were lush and gorgeous!

We had fun with the mud bath!
After an incredible Swedish Massage, Bear treated me to lunch too. In fact, she paid for the whole day at the spa! It was wonderful and I really enjoyed every minute. (Except those 2 minutes in the mineral bath...phew!)
And we finished up the day with a lovely dinner with my parents at my favorite seafood restaurant. It was a very nice, quiet birthday celebration.
Now, back to reality.

Today

I will try not to stress about things I need to get done.
I will try not to think about all of the shopping I have yet to do.
I will try not to think about the unwrapped gifts I have tucked away here and there.
I will try to enjoy myself.
I will try to relax.
I will try not to think about unanswered emails waiting for me.
I will try not to think about the dogs left at home all day waiting for me.
I will try to push the hustle and bustle of this time of year out of my head, just for the day.
I will try really hard to turn off my brain.
I will try.
It is, after all, my day for a change.
Happy Birthday to me.

Another Day at the office

We enjoyed another visit to the VA today with some of our therapy friends. We've had several new teams join us lately, and it's always fun to spend time with them.

This is Harley, a 17 month old English Bulldog. Harley is a big hit with the Vets - especially the Marine Vets!
This is Riley giving a little extra love before our official visit started.
Kona thought that Harley's Mom needed a little kiss to kick off the visit properly.
It's always nice to get a let loose a little before we get down to business.
What a fine looking group!
(left to right we have Ann with America, Roxanne with Bunny, Marilyn with Caleb, Kona, Marcia with Riley, and MeMe with Harley)
